Open Messages

Apple Cash works on iPhone in the United States. It's completely optional — Beam-It stays free for everyone.

Built with security in mind

Free · no account · no app store

Send files straight to your other devices.

Beam-It moves files, photos, messages and links from one browser to another — phone to laptop, office PC to phone, or to a classmate across the room. Nothing is uploaded, and there's no size limit. You can also call, video chat and share your screen.

How it works

Paired in a minute. Then just drop and send.

  1. Open Beam-It

Open beamfiles.vercel.app in any browser on your first device. There's nothing to install and no account to make.

  2. Add your other devices

Scan the QR code with your phone's camera, open the link, or type the 6-letter pairing code. Allow each new device once — Beam-It remembers it.

  3. Drop, tap, done

Drop files on a device, type a message or paste a screenshot. It arrives on the other screen in seconds, ready to save or open.

See it in action

A photo, a message and a video call, in real time.

This is Beam-It itself, recorded as it happened: a phone joins the pairing, is allowed on the laptop, and sends a photo and a message. Then the laptop starts a video call.

Features

Everything you'd do with email, USB sticks and cloud drives — without them.

Any file, any size

Documents, videos, project files. Whole folders arrive as one .zip. Big files ask to be accepted first and can go straight into a folder.

Messages and links

Send a note, a link or a code from phone to laptop. You see “Delivered” when it lands, with one tap to copy or open it. Fix a typo with Edit, or delete a message for everyone.

Clipboard and screenshots

Copy on one device, send in one tap. Paste a screenshot anywhere in Beam-It and it's on its way.

Photos that just open

Take a photo and it lands on your laptop. iPhone photos (HEIC) can turn into JPG on arrival, so Windows opens them.

One-time links

Send a file to someone who doesn't use Beam-It: they get a link that works once, straight from your device while Beam-It is open.

Guests

Let a classmate, client or colleague send to one of your devices — for an hour, a day or a week — without seeing your others.

Waits for offline devices

Send to a device that's switched off: it goes as soon as that device opens Beam-It. A dropped transfer carries on where it stopped.

Ring a lost device

Can't find your phone or tablet? If Beam-It is open on it, ring it from your laptop — it beeps and shows a message.

Feels like an app

Add it to your Dock, taskbar or Home Screen, turn on alerts, and it opens like any other app — no app store needed.

Voice and video calls

Call any of your devices or a guest, turn the camera on, or share your screen. Bring up to 6 devices into one call.

Shared notes

A shopping list, an address, a reminder: one note that is the same on all your own devices, updated as you type.

Keep a folder the same

Pick a folder on two computers, and new, changed and deleted files copy both ways while Beam-It is open. Needs Chrome or Edge.

Groups and device cards

Save devices as a group like Home or Work and choose them in one tap. Cards show a picture, connection quality, and battery where the browser shares it.

Send later

Pick a time and your next message or file goes out then, as long as Beam-It is open on your device.

Appear offline

Stay connected but look offline to your devices and guests. What they send waits until you show you're online.

App lock

Set a PIN and Beam-It asks for it before it opens. Add Face ID, Touch ID, a fingerprint or Windows Hello where your device has it. It opens as soon as the right PIN is typed.

Ask before receiving

Turn it on and no file arrives on that device until you tap Accept. Messages still come straight away.

Password-protected sends

Put a password on a file or a message. It can only be opened by typing the same password on the other device.

Verified transfers

After a file arrives, both devices show Verified when it is exactly what was sent, with nothing changed or damaged on the way.

Clear history automatically

Have finished files and messages leave a device's lists after 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days or 30 days. Handy on a shared or work computer.

Security at a glance

One screen shows every device that can reach yours: whether it is yours or a guest, how it is connected, when it last connected, and a button to remove it.

Voice notes

Tap Voice note, talk, and tap Send. The other device gets it with a Play button.

Scan a document

Photograph a paper, drag the four corners onto it, and Beam-It straightens it. Several pages go as one PDF.

Draw on a photo, or copy its text

Tap any photo, then Draw on it: circle something, add an arrow, or type words and drag them where you want. Save keeps it on your device; Send lets you choose which connected device gets it, yours or a guest's. Copy text reads the words in the picture, on your device. An unfinished drawing is kept, so you can carry on later, and recent photos in Activity can be opened again after you close Beam-It.

Print on your computer

Send a photo or PDF from your phone with Print on…, and the print window opens on your own computer.

Translate and pin messages

Translate turns a message into English, Albanian, Italian or German; the text goes to the MyMemory translation service. Pin keeps the texts you send often one tap away. Translate text does the same for the words in any picture you send or receive.

Stays connected, and tells you why not

The screen stays on while a file is moving. Nudge buzzes a device that hasn't accepted yet, and Test my connection says in plain words what is wrong. Photos sent together arrive as one album.

  4. Tap Copy to copy the translation, or Put it on the picture to place it on the photo: drag it where you want, then tap Send or Save.
Print, here or on your computer
  1. In Activity, tap More on a photo, PDF or text file.

  2. Choose the language.
  3. The translation appears under the message. The text is sent to the MyMemory translation service to be translated.
Pin texts you send often

  2. They arrive as one album. Tap a photo to see it.

  3. Save, Send to… and More work as before. Clear history removes the kept photos.
When a file waits to be accepted
  1. Tap Nudge on the waiting file.
  2. The other device buzzes and shows the file again.
  3. If nobody accepts within 10 minutes, the wait ends by itself.
Find out why a device won't connect
  1. Open More options above Activity.
  2. Tap Test my connection.
  3. Read the lines: OK is fine, Problem tells you what to fix, Note is information such as your pairing code.
See your numbers
  1. Open More options above Activity.
  2. Your numbers shows the files and messages this device sent and received in the last 7 and 30 days.
Lock Beam-It with a PIN
  1. Tap Security at the top, then Turn on app lock, and choose a PIN.
  2. When Beam-It is locked, type the PIN. It opens as soon as the PIN is right.
  3. If it does not open by itself, press Unlock once. After that it will.
The screen stays on during a transfer
  1. Nothing to do. While a file is moving, Beam-It keeps the screen on so the transfer isn't cut off.
  2. Keep Beam-It on screen until the file says it was sent or received.

Who it's for

Made for the way people actually share.

From a lecture hall to an office floor, Beam-It gets files where they need to be without a USB stick, an email to yourself, or a cloud folder to tidy up later.

Students

School and college

  • Photos of the whiteboard and handouts, straight onto your laptop for notes.
  • Swap project files and slides with your group — add classmates as guests for the day.
  • Send an essay from your laptop to your phone to read on the bus.
  • No account, no storage limit, and nothing to pay.
  • Call your group or share your screen to go over a project together.
Business

Teams and employees

  • Move files between the office PC and a work phone without emailing them to yourself.
  • Hand a visitor or client a file with a one-time link — no shared drive to set up.
  • Give a colleague guest access to one device, for as long as the job takes.
  • Files go device to device, so no copy sits on a third-party cloud.
  • Show a colleague your screen or start a quick video call, device to device.
Everyday

At home and on the go

  • Holiday photos and videos from your phone to your computer, full quality.
  • A link or a Wi-Fi password from your laptop to your phone in one tap.
  • Screenshots to your PC the moment you take them.
  • Works across Apple, Windows and Android in the same pairing.

Built with security in mind

Your files never sit on someone else's server.

  • Direct and encryptedFiles and messages travel straight between your browsers over an encrypted connection. When a network blocks a direct link, a relay passes the encrypted data through — it can't read it and doesn't keep it. Calls and shared screens go the same way.
  • A private pairingA new device has to be allowed by one of yours before it can see or send anything. A security code lets you check it's really the device you expect.
  • No account, no profileNo sign-up, no email address, no tracking of what you send — visits are only counted, anonymously. Remove or block a device any time.
  • Guests stay separateA guest can only send to and receive from the one device that let them in — never your other devices, or who else you've allowed.
  • Your own locksLock Beam-It with a PIN, Face ID or a fingerprint, choose to be asked before any file is received, and protect a file or message with a password. The lock keeps others out of Beam-It on that device; it does not encrypt files you have already saved.

Questions

Good to know

Is Beam-It really free?

Yes. There's no account, no subscription and no limit on how much you send.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Beam-It runs in the browser you already have — Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox. If you like, add it to your Dock, taskbar or Home Screen so it opens like an app.

Do both devices have to be on?

For a transfer to happen, yes — both need Beam-It open. If you send to a device that's offline, Beam-It keeps it waiting and sends it as soon as that device opens Beam-It again.

How many devices can I pair?

Up to 8 devices in one pairing — your phone, tablet, laptop, work PC and more. Guests you allow don't join your pairing.

Is it safe for work or school files?

Files travel directly between devices over an encrypted connection and aren't stored on a server. As with any tool, follow your school's or employer's rules for sensitive data.

Can I send to someone who doesn't have Beam-It?

Yes. Make a one-time link for a file and send it to them. They download it straight from your device — keep Beam-It open until they have — and the link stops working after one download.

What if my networks block a direct connection?

Beam-It falls back to a relay that passes the encrypted data between your devices. It's a little slower, but it works on any network — mobile data, school or work Wi-Fi.

Can I make calls with Beam-It?

Yes. Tap the phone or camera button on a device's card for a voice or video call, share your screen from a computer, and add more devices — up to 6 in one call. Calls go device to device, like your files.

Can it keep a folder in sync between my computers?

Yes, with Chrome or Edge on both computers. In More options, turn on “Keep a folder the same on your computers” and pick a folder on each. Changes copy both ways while Beam-It is open on both, and deleted files go into a “Beam-It deleted files” folder instead of disappearing.

Can I look offline?

Yes. Tap Appear offline at the top. Your devices and guests see you as offline, and what they send waits until you turn it off.

Can I lock Beam-It?

Yes. Tap Security at the top, then Turn on app lock, and choose a PIN. Beam-It asks for it when it opens and after you have been away. Where your device has it, you can also unlock with Face ID, Touch ID, a fingerprint or Windows Hello.

What if I forget my PIN?

Tap “Forgot your PIN?” on the lock screen. Beam-It is reset on that device: its pairing, history and settings there are removed, and you add the device to your others again. Your other devices are not affected.

How do I send something with a password?

Tap Password next to Send later, choose a password, then send a file or a message as usual. Tell the other person the password another way, for example by phone. Files can be up to 200 MB.

Your devices, finally on speaking terms.

Open Beam-It on two devices and send your first file in under a minute.
